The range of tv’s you can get now is truly mind boggling and with prices becoming ever more competitive it is becoming very difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff. After much research I have recently bought two new tv’s ( a 26 inch sony and the Sony w4500 40 inch) for the bedroom and the lounge. This has given me a great opportunity to review the W4500 for your benefit - any questions please feel free to ask.
Let’s start with looks - this tv is pretty stunning from every angle. It is finished in gloss black with a clear cut out at the bottom of the screen. The clear perspex is also home to the power on icon and other icons that light up when in use. The logo light can be either switched on or off - not that it puts me off when watching as I think it looks great.
The buttons are neatly hidden behind the recess on the top on the TV. The Sony logo is subtlety lit up in white. The speakers are hidden behind the front scree which means aesthetics are maintained with absolutely no sacrifice to the sound quality. The built in surround sound feature is actually very good with no need for extra speakers.
The picture is as good as you would expect from Sony. The new bravia engine delivers sharp picture quality with great colors throughout the spectrum. The motionflow 100 Hz technology produces blur and judder free pictures both whilst watching free view and even better on Sky. It also runs full 1080 HD which is amazing when paired with Sky HD or Blu Ray.
The W4500 comes with a whole range of multi media tools that allow you to view photos, view files from your laptop and share files over your network.
